Last Saturday I went to see my mates' band; The Alibis at a pub in South Shields called the Sandancer. They were as brilliant as every and I would recommend everyone to go see them if you can; I'll post the link to their Facebook page below this. Although the location was pretty dark and I had to use a very high ISO, I did get some great but grainy pictures of the band. Admittadely I should have shot in RAW not JPEG's but my hard and software are so outdated that I wouldn't have been able to do anything with the pictures. I'm still editing them ATM and I slowly posting them on my Facebook page so for more of the pictures have a look...

Weekend Update
Just another quick update of my Photography. This weekend I've been quite busy; I just bought a new camera, a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens and I've just been breaking it in over the weekend. Yesterday I went to the Wallsend Festival, hoping to take some Street Photography pictures but mostly got some pictures of my girlfriend and friends. I then went to my mates' band's gig in Shields and got some great (although quite grainy) pictures of the band members until it got too dark. Today I went to my cousin Matthew's christening and got some great photos there. Tomorrow I'll be on my computer after the gym and will get starting editing some pictures so I can post them on my Facebook page and this blog, so keep your eyes peeled.

Heather; Vintage Bike
Just thought I'd show you guys the two final images from my "Bikes and Location" college unit. I asked my friend Heather to model for me in a vintage dress using her mother's vintage bike as a prop. The location was Hebburn Riverside, and although the weather and lighting was poor, I was really pleased with the shoot and I was able to produce these final images for my project. I might add some of the other edits from this shoot later, and I've also got some pictures from the Wallsend Festival and The Alibis' gig at the Sandancer in South Shields, so stay tuned.

Macara; The Little Mermaid
I recently did a photo-shoot with my friend Macara dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid at Marsden Beach, and these are the first photos I've edited from this shoot. As a first shoot I'm really pleased with how this turned out, although the beach littered and it was quite windy and cold on the day of the shoot. I'd quite like to do another shoot with someone dressed as Prince Eric on the beach next to Bambrough Caste. So if anyone has a prince or knight costume and wants to volunteer please get in touch. So hopefully we might be taking a day trip out to Bambrough during the summer. But either way I'm very pleased with the shoot and Macara played the part very well. Keep an eye on her page as I will add some more pictures when I've edited them.

Torque Motor Sports Event
I've just gotten back from the Torque Motor Sports Event at the Nissan Factory in Sunderland, it was a great event; good stunt show, good cars and teams on display and I even got to talk to some models and photographers. I also got some really great events pictures and I'm hoping that I'll be able to use some on my Locations and Bikes project for College.
So hopefully I will be able to upload some pictures tomorrow, and I've also got some Spice Street Market event pictures and some more local Street Photography pictures that I will try and upload soon so stay tuned.

Bikers of the Quayside
This one of my favorite Street Photography pictures taken on Newcastle Quayside during the weekly Sunday Market of a group of Harley Davidson Bikers, who often stop buy the Quayside during the Market. This was back when I was at Sixth Form, during the led up to my Final A2 Exam and as the coursework for my exam was split into Street and Portraiture, I favored Street and focused heavily on shooting in the Quayside Market and around Monument.
For anyone who is interested this was back when I was using a Fujifilm S3400 but now I've moved onto a Nikon D5100. I prefer the Nikon for the picture quality and features, but it doesn't have the zoom and lightweight maneuverability of the Fuji, which I'd recommend for Street Photography.

Kickboxing Julie
These are some of my the best pictures from one of my earliest High-Key Portraiture photoshoot. Julie is another student on my college course and is a kick-boxer, so I asked her to model for me wearing her kicking boxing gloves and gear. I was really pleased with the shoot although I now wish I'd experiemented with other camera angles and gathered some research images so I knew what to expect. But clearly I owe Julie a big thank you for helping with this shoot.
