Foundation Degree: Digital Acquistions Project

Here are the 2 Final Images and my first ever video from my 2nd Unit of Coursework from my Foundation Degree. This unit was called Digital Acquisition and focused on Advertising and contained elements of Fashion, Editorial, Still Life and Videography.

The unit was split into 3 projects called Editorial Shoe, Upsize and Advertising.

For Editorial Shoe, we had to shoot a Still Life Shoe in the studio to be used as an Editorial image for a Advertisement. My idea was inspired by loads of photos I found during my research that show boots standing on leaves so I tried to create a Still Life version of this. For Upsize I had to shoot a Mid-Key Fashion image for John Lewis and enlargement an element of the photos. I combined this with a shoot I did with a Fashion shoot and enlarged the model's head as a "Think Big!" idea. The video was a collaboration with Amelia Read, in which we had to produce a 10-second video together advertising shoes with the subtitle; "Walk the Walk". Amelia was the Director and I was the Camera Operator, Lightening Assistant and Editor and I think we did a pretty good job together.

This was a very stressful unit which I didn't particularly enjoy, expect for a few parts like learning to shoot and edit short videos. I'm now planning a studio day before my college shuts and then a relaxing break over Christmas during which I will planning shoots and coming up with ideas for Spring and Summer 2014.

Amy's Studio Shoot

I love working with the gorgeous little Amy mainly because she's a beautiful little ball of fun and she usually dresses up. I've already shot her in Newcastle and as Raven from Teen Titans and Babydoll from Sucker Punch as well as many others. These are some of my favourite photos from our first studio shoot along with Ellen Hall Photography. These were loads of fun to shoot and I am really proud of the images we produced together and can't wait to work with Amy and Ellen again.

Lily the Little Vampire

I know understand why actors disliking working with children. Here are some of my favourite photos from my shoot called "Lily the Little Vampire". Lily may be adorable but on the day of the shoot it was pouring with rain so we had to shoot inside rather than outside in a cobbled backstreet and her cousin who was chchaperoninghe shoot was ill and couldn't sub-in as a victim of the vampire as we originally intended. Also Lily was initially very hyper and active but quickly became tired, I suspect a sugar rush was involved, and she refused to use the fake blood I had bought. However, we persevered and I think we produced a lovely set of images.
